How To: Ghost a New Fileserver

ON YOUR LAPTOP:

 

Open ‘Remote Desktop Connection’ and connect to ghost machine.

 

IP Address: 10.0.130.19

Username: RDSSE/pxeghost1

Password: RDSpos!

 

On ghost machine, open GhostSrv (it’s on the desktop)

 

Type your initials in ‘Session Name’.

 

Open Image ‘i2201-500gb-06-28-2016.gho’ (or the newest image in use)

 

Set Client Count to 1

 

Click ‘Accept Clients’

 

 

ON FILESERVER:

 

Connect fileserver in ghosting room, using Aloha NIC.

 

Turn on, and do initial Windows Setup. Shut down.

 

 

Boot while pressing F2 to get into BIOS.

 

  • Arrow over to BIOS section, hit ENTER key (do not use ESC key)
  • In BIOS, navigate to “LAN PXE” and change to “ENABLED
  • Arrow to Peripherals then SATA Configuration, change SATA mode from ACHI to RAID.
  • Exit, saving all changes.

 

 

Boot while pressing CTRL-I

 

  • Create new RAID volume, set as “RAID(1) Mirror”.
  • Exit, saving all changes.

 

 

Boot while pressing F12.

 

  • Select desired network card.
  • Select Ghostcast>Multicast then type in your ‘Session Name’ (Your Initials)
  • Press ‘Accept Clients’ on ghosting server (from your laptop)
  • Should ghost in 30-40 mins.
